As you all know from reading this blog, or knowing me outside of the internet; this last week I started my final year as a collegiate athlete at the division III level at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN. As a team last Friday night we gave up a night out of our lives to take time and volunteer at Feed My Starving Children at the Eagan distribution site. This was our second year in a row going to kick off the year! In conjunction with our volunteering we also wanted to give a financial gift from a portion of our own fundraiser for the 2011 - 2012 swim season we're donating 25% of the donations we receive to Feed My Starving Children non-profit organization. You can visit their website {here}. Well this is where YOU come in! Everyone on our team is participating in a 12-hour straight swim-a-thon to raise money for our swim team as well as Feed My Starving Children and we need people to sponsor our swimming, that can either be through a one-time you choose donation or donate per every mile we complete. If you are able or interested in more information please contact me via email Ashley_Kramka@yahoo.com. What really hit close to my heart was that the food that was donated from the night we worked was sent to children in Haiti that are still devastated from last years earth quakes, these packages of food are a simple way we can send our love and hope for them for a brighter tomorrow!
